WARNING: snake in the grass

Mother out teaching baby woodchuck how to be a woodchuck
This is the largest snake I have personally seen.  It's a Northern Water Snake not venomous but has an infectious bite.
I think this guy is over 3 ft (1 M) and about 1.5 in in diameter.  WOW  And it was blocking the only path that didn't involve me getting wet.  Unintimidated by Me or my dog it finally  slithered off into the grass.
