Grenville

This is a run full tilt past an object/smell.  Head turns -  physics keeps body in full forward motion.
Happy dog!!

Quick hide behind a tree

We were being watched as we walked through Gannadagon this morning.

Single digit temps

Single digit (F) temps make for a very short walk before Grenville's feet freeze.
I let him out then got my camera and gear when I looked and here was coming back as fast as his frozen feet would carry him.

Winter ... still with us

The wind added to the low temps on our walk this morning
Ganagaro Creek is a winter wonderland

Jay and Robin

Spring must be here ... or it never left.  This Robin was not the only one hangin' at the south end of Canandiagua Lake.
The Jay was digging for brunch

Not the normal stuff ...

This not my normal stuff, but I was shooting stills of my young friend dancing for a videographer.  They were creating her portfolio to send for job interviews.  Cool stuff.

A Beaver on the pond

The shawn through a tiny hole in the clouds onto these Popular trees and the old railroad trestle footings
I was watching the Mallards trying not to take yet another picture of them.  I saw a wake that could not have been a duck  ... it was the Beaver.  I have seen signs of this guy all summer, but this is the first look I have had.  Of course it was too dark so I only had a short lens and couldn't get a good picture but he was great to see

Geocaching on the Lehigh

We went geocaching on the Lehigh Trail. Under the snow is a former railroad - the Lehigh Valley.
Horses are a common sight around here
Katy is about 7, I think, and blind, but that does not stop her from coming out for the walk and play in the snow.  It is really great to see.

Boughton Park in the Winter

A bright sunny morning.  New fallen snow about 200-300mm deep.

Wednesday, January 12, 2011

Mallards again

These may be the same Mallards from a different point and a cold, snowy day.  We have had about 150-200mm of the white stuff.

Mallards in the park

More Mallards enjoy the open water

Burdock

A calm day with a little snow over nite clinging to the Burdock.

Gone to the birds again ... Hey it's winter.. Pick from the low branches

Mallards that we scared up from the few open spots of water
It was a sunny day, but cooler than necessary so the Blue Jay is all fluff.

Boughton Park

This is done live not in Photoshop.  It is much easier in PS but I finally tried it live.
I think I saw this Red Tail in the park but this time he waited for me to change lens and then change batteries before I could take his picture.

It must be New Year

Some how this is just a New Year shot!
How often do you see an Elephant in your local corn field?
This is Geocaching at its best ... probably.
