Ring-necked

I couldn't get the black cat sneaking up on this Ringed-necked Pheasant. I don't think the Pheasant even realized the danger. Not sure what happened since I was parked in the middle of an intersection and had to move along.

Geese

These Canada Geese just flew over the ponds without stopping but will probably be stopping in soon on the way south.

A Cobblestone House

We were Geocacheing at Mendon Ponds Park when our track lead us behind this Cobblestone house. It is a great example of the architecture from the workers left around after the Erie Canal was finished.

A Blue Heron

This Blue Heron was standing in a tree at the south end of Canandaigua Lake. They just don't look like they should be in a tree without some sort of safety devices. They are just designed wrong for tree roosting.
See! We need to get some engineers working on a better design.

Fort Hill again

The view from the top. A great day for November with sun but very cold.
This is a map of the area showing the settlements of the Indians.

White deer at Romulus

It was a very frosty morning even late morning, but we took a quick trip to the former Seneca Army Depot at Romulus. In the day it was barricaded and secured giving rise to a tribe of White deer. As you can see from this girl they are not albinos, just white. This one has a lot of brown hair, but a pink nose and ears.
Same deer different shot.

It's all about dinner and color

The Red Tail with his head on a swivel looking for dinner.
There came at taping, gentle raping at my chamber door. The Crow found his dinner at my neighbors feeder.
Not much colour any more but these berries provide some contrast to the colours of the Crow

Bugs and Beaver

It was an abnormally warm day. Not really sunny but warm enough to get these Lady bugs out and about
I was at Boughton Park and found these recent Beaver carvings. This makes me feel much better because late last fall or early winter Grenville found a dead Beaver at about this same spot. I was afraid that we had lost all the beaver in the ponds. They come stay a while then move on or are killed. A few years late some others come. It would be great to have some come and stay. I have yet to see one here.

Sun, blue sky, warm ... this is not fall

It was a warm, sunny day but not much to photograph. The leaves are down and the birds some where else. This Autumn Meadowhawk was out doing it's thing. It is getting harder to get pix, but I will try to blog at least once aweek as the days get dull andd grey around here.
Not sure what this is but it looked neat in the sun

It has been cloudy and busy of late

I have not posted for a couple days because I have been busy and the pictures just were not there. Today I got this Bluejay with some trees in the far background that make some nice colors together.
The milkweed was in the sun with a great background color.
This just pisses me off! Irresponsible hunters dumped this carcass at the edge of the parking lot. From the tracks they probably dumped and ran before they were cought. I am not against hunting , but this and dumping the field dressing guts in the parking lot make me wonder if all hunting should be banded in public land.

This Cardinal is in fall plumage which is not as bright as the spring, but is still bright.

A sunny day

Actually took this picture last night at the Grist Mill falls in Phelps,NY. The blue cast is from the lights on the falls.
The Downey Woodpecker was down by the swamp going from tree to tree
This Goldfinch cought my eye. It just broke me up when it peaked up to look around as it feed on the dried flowers.
