Activity at the park
The Blue Heron was looking for dinner. He probably is one that wintered over around here ... a hardy bunch.
These geese were swinging around to come and get the dog that was going nuts on the beach trying to scare them off. It's great fun to watch - Grenville running up and down the shore line backing like a mad dog looking for a closer approach to the geese and the geese coming closer just to pull him in the water so they can drown him.

New GPS unit
I have mentioned going Geocaching several times. This is my new GPS unit. The white box contains the GPS and a radio transmitter. The laptop has a radio receiver which loads the data on to Delorme Topo 7.0. The GPS is separated from the laptop using theXBee radios to communicate. I will be trying this out soon.

Red Fox
Out standing in his field ... looking for mice etc. Haven't seen one in several months so this was great to see.

Skunk cabbage
Last week it was spring like ... this week was like January. The temp has not topped freezing and the nights were in the teens.
The Skunk cabbage has flowered (see above) and is now leafing out.

Ice
I don't know if this is ice fishing or just freezing-to-death-fishing. We had several days which melted all the ice, but the last couple have been so cold some ice has returned.
More ice on the creek.
