Jack-In-The-Pulpit

 The Jack-In-the-Pulpit are just stating to show up.

 And the Painted Lady Vanessa cardui the first butterfly of the year.  Pretty cool!

The spring sun is out

This Painted Turtle was only 1 of many out sun bathing probably with SPF15 at least.  This is unusual in that I rarely see them here, but canoeing close by they all over the logs when the sun is out.

 Mertensia what more to say?  Hay I lived on Mertensia Rd for 20 yrs and moved around the corner for another 15 yrs before I found out it is a flower not Jack and Mary Mertensia that the area was named for.

Trillium Grandiflora  cool stuff and more rain braking our 2 day drought.

Yellow Warbler

 The opening day of Turkey season!  They are unaware, they can't read.

Every where I look they tell me there 40-70 different Trillium.  No one seems to have a list of them and this is one that is not listed.  So just enjoy.

I think the Wooley Bear is predicting a long summer because his brown strip is so wide or maybe winter is going to hang on.
