This Garter Snake was so surprised it curled up in a defensive coil instead of fleeing.  As soon as I turned to leave he was gone.

I have to smile when I see a Blue Heron in a tree because they just look sooo out of place.

Along the trail

 The Robin just looks around to making sure he looks pretty.

These Bunnies were on the trail today just watching for Grenville to come too close.

Geocaching in Hemlock, NY

 This deer is much thinner because people keep going by with dogs disrupting her feeding.

 The gophers were so abundant in this field that they we like a "Wack-A-Mole" game.  Popping up here then going down their hole and reappearing over there. 

 Grenville loves to have his picture with his woodland buddies.

Rabbit

I was out in the yard with Grenville, my dog, when I looked over and saw this rabbit sleeping behind the house behind mine.  Since Grenville was not on a leash I was glad the rabbit didn't move.  Grenville didn't see it or it would have been off-to-races.

This Green Heron was at the top of the tree looking for dinner way down in the swamp.

 The Rosa multiflora is in bloom and looks good ... this week only.  Then it is time to kill every bit of it as weed which is taking over the hillside and smothering the native plants.

 This Baltimore Oriole stopped briefly in the swamp.

 Daisys are out in abundance.

 Saw a number of deer just off the trail today.

I think he may have just checked to make sure the sign was still up.
